Hours of Operation & Service Schedule

The ride on the Untersbergbahn takes about 8 minutes and offers impressive views of the city of Salzburg and the surrounding mountains.
Our cable car departs punctually on the hour and half-hour, so you can plan flexibly. For special occasions or during peak visitor times, we add extra intermediate runs to meet your needs.
The Untersbergbahn generally operates even in changeable weather. However, in the event of strong winds, thunderstorms, or other weather conditions that pose a safety risk, service may be limited or temporarily suspended.
A gondola can accommodate up to 45 people and is always accompanied by a gondolier.

Yes, dogs are allowed on the Untersbergbahn. Please be aware that leashes and muzzles are required.
The Untersberg & Your Day Trip

The upper station is located at an elevation of approximately 1,776 meters above sea level. The lift climbs a vertical distance of about 1,320 meters.
We recommend sturdy shoes and weather-appropriate clothing. The weather on the mountain can change quickly.
