Information for Wheelchair Users
A maximum of 2 wheelchairs per gondola!
Following the extensive renovation of the Untersbergbahn, the mountain station—which features a viewing terrace—is now accessible to guests with physical disabilities.
Valley Station: Parking spaces for people with physical disabilities are located immediately in front of the new wheelchair ramp, right next to the entrance. A passenger elevator provides access to the cable car gondola. Restroom facilities for people with physical disabilities are available.
Upper Station: Unfortunately, due to the building’s design, it was not possible to retrofit a passenger elevator. A stairlift was therefore purchased. The wheelchair lift has a maximum load capacity of 130 kg (wheelchair user with wheelchair).
People with electric wheelchairs can only be transported by transferring to a non-electric wheelchair (1 available).
A restroom facility for people with physical disabilities is available.
Mountain Exit: Automatic doors provide access to the outdoors. However, just beyond the adjacent observation deck, the mountain trail to the summit begins—a path that is no longer part of the cable car area, is in places steep, and consists mainly of gravel. This trail is not wheelchair-accessible.
